John D. Parmalee sold his interests in the toll road to Benjamin F. Eden in 1885, who became toll keeper of the road from Morrison to Conifer (earlier known as Morrison to Bradford Junction). In 1885 Eden sold the road to Jefferson County and acquired more than 1,000 acres in the northern end of Parmalee Gulch. George W. Olinger purchased the Eden land in 1921.
