The Town of Keenesburg is located in Weld County. Keenesburg was named for Les Keene, an early settler, & was incorporated on June 4, 1919. In 1906, the towns people built the railway station that was later demolished in 1963. In 1912, Keenesburg first school opened, which helped cease the mild overflow. In 1919, the bar building downtown was built along with a number of other buildings. In the 1930's &1940's more people moved in and the population continued through the 1950's and early 1960's.
